Kristine + Max
Autumn Wedding Scotland
Kristine and Max had planned a perfect Autumn wedding at Craigsanqhuar Country House Hotel in Fife. All they needed to make the day go to plan was some good weather and boy did they get it! Everything came together for the most amazing outside ceremony in the garden overlooking the hills towards St Andrews.
My day started at Kristine’s Mum and Dad’s house in Carnoustie. This was her childhood home and it meant a lot for Kristine to be able to get ready there.
It was certainly a busy household that morning. One bride, six bridesmaids and a Mother of the Bride all needing their hair and makeup done by midday.
Max was already at Craigsanquhar waiting for his bride to be. Kristine arrived at the venue in a fabulous convertible wedding car. She looked stunning as she walked down the garden steps and up the red carpet to be married to Max. An outside ceremony is just beautiful especially with all the gorgeous autumn colours.
The humanist ceremony was full of laughs and happy tears. Max and Kristine shared a quaich which was filled with Max’s favourite drink…Coke! They tied the knot in a traditional handfasting ceremony before having their first married kiss.
The weather held all afternoon. It was a bit chilly but the sun was shinning and we got some gorgeous light for photographs. The autumn colours were fabulous, October is a great month for a wedding.
After some hilarious speeches and a little victory dance from Max, everyone tucked into a delicious wedding breakfast before cake cutting and then dancing the night away to a jazz band.
Here’s how it felt on their day…
