I was delighted when Mags and Dougie booked me to be their Inchyra wedding photographer. They were organising a garden party wedding in the field behind their cottage. It’s a really lovely spot with plenty of space for a big marquee. At they end of the road you can get right down onto the banks of the River Tay which made a great location for some romantic couple portraits.
Wedding Preps at Inchyra
Usually when I arrive to photograph the bride’s preps it’s all go, with hair, make-up and pampering. Not Mags! When I arrived at the cottage she was power-washing the terrace, organising a seating plan and finishing off decorating the marquee, all at the same time. Dougie and his friends were sorting out the wine until they decided to bring in a digger and flatten out the rough ground under the makeshift path. This was all just a few hours before their guests were due to arrive for the wedding ceremony.
I loved the whole vibe of their day. Everyone had a part to play. Dougie’s daughter Meghan was in charge of making and creating an amazing table plan. Meanwhile her brother Jack help nail the wedding sign on to tree and generally tried his best to photobomb people. Her lovely sister was Mags’s bridesmaid and two of her friends did the honours with hair and makeup.
Wedding Ceremony at Inchyra
I have no idea how they all managed to pull it together for their 3 o’clock ceremony. However with the help of some great friends they managed it, even deciding at the very last moment to have the ceremony outside instead of in the marquee. It had poured with rain all morning but it dried up (sort of) just in time for an al fresco ceremony.
Wedding Reception at Inchyra
The marquee was fantastic, it had a proper wooden floor and had been decorated with wild flowers. Long wooden tables and chiavari chairs completed the chic rustic look.
You can just tell when a wedding is a roaring success and this one definitely was. The guests had a ball! Great food, wine and a brilliant band ensured that this was a wonderful day. Even the dog had a great time! I love dogs a weddings and Jacob was such a wee star.
