Piperdam Wedding Photography | Yvonne & Mark
What a fantastic day I had photographing Yvonne and Mark’s Humanist wedding at Piperdam in Scotland. I hadn’t met either of them before the day as they live in Australia but we had chatted lots by email. It was lovely to eventually meet them and their families.
Yvonne and Mark hadn’t been back to Scotland since they left a couple of years ago for their new life in Australia so they really wanted to make the celebrations last over a whole weekend. Piperdam was the perfect venue for what they were planning. A beautiful setting and plenty of accommodation in the Pipedam Lodges for their family and friends who were able to combine the wedding with a mini break.
Yvonne and her three bridesmaids got ready for the day in The Vegas Lodge. It was a fantastic space for the girls to relax in and enjoy being pampered on the wedding morning.
It was also such a good opportunity for me to get candid photos.
Yvonne and Mark liked my documentary style of wedding photojournalism. Relaxed natural images was definitely what they were looking for.
All the bridal party were ferried to the wedding in the cutest VW Beetle. It might have had a few rattles but that just added to it’s charm.
Yvonne looked really beautiful in her wedding dress and her Dad was very proud as he walked his daughter down the aisle. Mark was waiting for her and he looked every bit the handsome Scotsman.
They were married by Caroline Lambie a Humanist Celebrant. It was a very personal ceremony with lots of laughs and a few tears.
Afterwards we dodged the showers to take a few photos out by the fishing loch. It’s not a good idea to spend to much time in front of the camera on your wedding day so they quickly headed back inside to join their guests for canapés and champagne. Catching up with family and friends was the very essence of their wedding.
I stayed to capture the hilarious speeches and their first dance.
